MontRural

A trilingual hospitality website for MontRural, a boutique Catalonia estate, with editorial UX/UI design built to drive direct bookings.
context
Most people outside of Spain have never heard of Penedès. It's a wine region in Catalonia, quiet and unhurried, surrounded by vineyards and the kind of open landscape that makes people want to slow down. MontRural sits right in the middle of it: a secluded historic estate with six en-suite rooms, generous communal spaces, a terrace, and a separate lower-floor space called Bodega, purpose-built for wine tastings, intimate dinners, and private gatherings of up to eight guests.

The property is available in several formats: full estate rental for private stays, half-day and full-day event hire, and the Bodega as a standalone space. It's the kind of place people choose for milestone celebrations, small corporate offsites, wellness retreats, or simply a beautiful weekend away from the city. The estate had everything going for it. What it didn't have was a digital presence that could reach beyond word of mouth and communicate all of that to an international audience across three languages.
goals
Increase direct bookings and reduce dependency on third party aggregators. Reach an international, multilingual audience across three languages. Create a strong first impression for visitors with no prior knowledge of the property or the region. Clearly present all rental formats in a simple and intuitive way. Help potential guests quickly find the option that fits them and contact the property without friction.

The Insight
A property like this doesn't sell itself through specs. Six rooms and a terrace don't mean much to someone scrolling from Barcelona or abroad with no emotional connection to the place. The website had to do something most hospitality sites skip: build the world before selling the product.

We shaped the creative direction around three ideas that define the MontRural experience: privacy, open space, and what we called “noble rest,” an idea of rest that is elegant, unhurried, and thoughtfully arranged. The site needed to make visitors feel the estate before they started comparing prices or checking availability. Get that feeling right, and the practical questions answer themselves. That emotional pull is also what converts a curious visitor into a direct inquiry rather than a click to an aggregator.
The Process
We started by mapping everything the site needed to carry and the order in which a first-time visitor would need to receive it. For an international audience unfamiliar with Penedès, context wasn't optional. It was the foundation. So we opened with the place itself: a secluded estate among the vineyards, about an hour from Barcelona, with no neighboring properties in sight. Silence, open views, and real privacy. Only once that world was established did we move into the estate.

The visual direction came straight from the landscape. The color palette pulls from what surrounds the property: cream like the masia walls, orange like the terracotta rooftops of Catalonia, green like the vineyards. For typography we have choosen elegant, characterful serif type. Everything sits on a clean, airy layout with plenty of space and nothing unnecessary.

The site structure follows the natural flow of a guest's decision: first the place, then the atmosphere, then the spaces, then the formats, then the contact. We moved through the property block by block, from the concept and location through the communal areas, the six en-suite rooms, and the Bodega presented as a standalone product, all the way to testimonials and booking. Every section has a specific job to do in moving a visitor closer to a reservation.

The Result
The Сlient received a trilingual website that gives MontRural a real digital presence for the first time, one capable of reaching different audiences and making a compelling case for the property without any prior context or referral. The site now supports the estate's core business priority: generating direct bookings and reducing reliance on aggregators. The clear rental format breakdown lowers the barrier between interest and inquiry, while the Bodega is presented as a distinct product with its own audience and revenue stream. MontRural now has the digital foundation it needs to grow on its own terms.
